You might also like to know that we have a new Facebook page, and a new Instagram page to boot, that also show you how HSM are as a company and as people! As we’re not just you’re average gardeners! Thankfully the weather turned a bit cooler and wetter today than it has been for the last 4 weeks. But that prolonged period of dry weather will have taken its toll on your plants. It’s important to keep them watered, or the new growth will start to struggle and die off! Plants like Ceanothus and Buxus need watering during these weather conditions to keep them healthy. So head out at the start of the day, or towards the end, to give them a nice drink. Avoid watering in full sun could cause more damage to the foliage with scorching.

As we head towards summer, you’ve probably noticed that all your favourite herbaceous plants are starting to shoot up towards the sky, and flower buds are possibly starting to develop. As nice as this may seem, all this nice fresh greenery doesn’t just attract the eyes of the keen gardener and on-looker. The slugs are coming! Before they can get to your favourite Dhalias, Hostas and Lupins, spread out some slug pellets around the plants to make sure they aren’t eaten before they have a change so show off their beauty.
